Dear Editor:

Given that free speech is the oxygen of liberty, I’d like to explain my support for Victoria Spartz for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives.

She has a solid voting record, having represented us well in Washington – exactly what we voted her to do. She deserves to be reelected just on her record. Importantly, our congresswoman was born and emigrated from a socialist country. She is a voice of knowledge, experience, and reason against any slide toward socialism in the U.S.

She has been maligned by PAC advertising; however, today, personal research by voters is easy given AI reviews all relevant documents. According to Grok, “There is no evidence that Victoria Spartz has conducted insider trading, and the attack ads’ core claims are misleading or false on the key points of personal trading, the dollar figure as ‘profit,’ and her opposition to reforms.”

According to wisevoter.com, “She sits on the Joint Economic Committee (reports and hearings, not primary industry regulation of real estate or airlines). She voted yes on the Stop Insider Trading Act (H.R. 7008) in July 2026, contrary to claims she fought such reforms.”

Her husband owns in an IRA SPG Simon Property Group and two airline stocks which the family disclosed, and I’ll say with certainty, as a former asset manager, these are not the holdings of a stock trader!

Grok: “In short, the ads accurately note that family accounts associated with her disclosures show substantial SPG (and limited other) trading activity that must be reported. They inaccurately portray it as her personal trading for personal enrichment via insider information or in industries she directly regulates, and they misstate her record on reform votes.”

So, my assessment is this: Reminds me of the 2012 dirty tricks when Democrat Harry Reid said Republican candidate Mitt Romney “didn’t pay his taxes for 10 years.” Romney denied the accusation. After the election, “Reid later expressed no regrets about making these claims, believing they influenced Romney’s election loss.”

No doubt the lie accusation cost Romney votes! If you’re on the fence in this election because of advertising, check it out yourself. Every vote counts!

Finally, I found contemptible the two recent news stories that Victoria Spartz election signs were stolen, and I’ve not heard or read of apologies or disapproving from the other side. This is not harmless, it’s against the law, and for newcomers, we don’t do that here.

Our elections have always been tough but respectable. I hope we are not losing that social normality in Central Indiana.
