Noblesville, Sheridan volleyball win Saturday invites

The Noblesville volleyball team returned to The Mill last Saturday to host its own Invitational.

The Millers had a perfect day, going 4-0 to win the trophy. Noblesville beat Shelbyville 25-5, 25-11, Jay County 25-7, 25-10, Wes-Del, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12 and Western Boone 25-16, 25-22.

Reese Resmer led the offense with 25 kills over the four matches, with Aubrey Stitcher hitting 21 kills, Anna Elkin putting down 20 and Riley Resmer hitting 19. Madison Brown dished out 76 assists for the day.

Elkin and Maddie Coates each served 12 total aces. On defense, Reese Resmer and Riley Resmer both made six blocks. Coates totaled 25 digs, while Brown had 16 digs and served nine aces.

The Millers are 11-2 and play Tuesday at Hamilton Heights.

Hamilton Heights took care of Western in a Hoosier Conference East Division sweep last Thursday.

The Huskies won 25-9, 25-15, 25-11. Macie Smith played well at the net for Heights, which is 12-4 overall and 2-0 in division play.

Sheridan joined the conference win club on Thursday, sweeping Carroll 25-18, 25-12, 25-8.

The Blackhawks continued to serve well. Trinity Parkin hit six aces and won 13 of 15 service points. Kenzie Garner collected 10 service points, including a pair of aces. Ali Pickard and Meredith Krupp both served two aces.

Parkin smacked 12 kills, with Garner and Shelby Eaton both hitting five. Beth Adams had four kills and Nova Cross added three. Cross dished out 24 assists.

Garner made six defensive digs and one block, with Krupp and Cross both making four digs. Sheridan is 3-1 in the conference.

The Blackhawks played at the Indiana School for the Deaf tournament last Saturday, finishing 2-1 at the event. Sheridan beat Irvington Prep Academy 25-15, 25-14 and Central Christian Academy 25-8, 25-4 before falling to host ISD 25-22, 28-26.

Garner totaled 20 kills for the tournament, with Parkin hitting 16. Cross dished out 42 assists, collected 19 digs and served 12 aces. Parkin also had 19 digs, Krupp collected 17 and Garner made 16 digs.

Sheridan is 11-6 for the season.
