Noblesville Schools announced Monday the launched of a new website called “Dollars and $ense” where residents can find details on district finances, learn more about how Indiana schools are funded, and stay up to date on district costs, spending, and financial accomplishments.
“We take our role as stewards of your taxpayer dollars very seriously and are committed to financial transparency,” Superintendent Dr. Dan Hile said. “This site makes financial information easier to access and helps explain exactly how your money is being spent.”
On the Dollars + $ense site residents can find:
- District financial highlights
- Links to Noblesville Schools financial documents
- How school finance works at the federal, state, and local levels
- How different “buckets” of money are funded and what specifically the money is spent on at Noblesville Schools
- How referenda work
- Answers to frequently asked questions like “What is Noblesville Schools doing to help lower my high property taxes?”
- Charts with Noblesville Schools actual financial data for each fund
“I am always available to answer questions from the community about our finances,” Noblesville Schools Chief Financial Officer David Hortermiller said. “But this website makes it quicker and easier for our taxpayers to stay informed and get the answers they need.”
Dollars + $ense can be found on the Noblesville Schools website under the community and business department sections, or by visiting noblesvilleschools.org/dollarsandsense.
