The Noblesville Schools Education Foundation (NSEF) announces the success of its 2025-2026 Classroom Grant Program, awarding $97,813 to 74 Noblesville educators, staff, and students across all 10 Noblesville Schools.
These grants empower educators, staff, and students to implement innovative initiatives that enhance learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. The funded projects support a wide range of priorities, including mental health and wellness, STEM education, arts enrichment and collaboration, and expanded access to opportunities for all students.
One example of an NSEF grant was at Hazel Dell Elementary, where second-grade teachers Chrystal Turner, Raquel Boos, Emily Betz, and Barb Horsfield received $400 to enrich their Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) medical and nutrition unit. The grant helped transform classroom learning into an interactive experience, allowing students to dress as doctors and rotate through hands-on stations that reinforced key concepts related to body systems, healthy nutrition choices, and overall wellness.
Another impactful grant was led by Erin Brattain, Director of Food and Nutrition Services, who received $5,645 to install an on-site hydroponic garden. The garden will produce fresh fruits and vegetables for school salad bars, supporting a “farm-to-tray” approach that enhances both the nutritional value and flavor of student meals. In addition to improving meal quality, the project will provide students with hands-on learning opportunities focused on sustainability, nutrition, and STEM concepts through real-world food production.
Noblesville Schools educators, staff, and students are encouraged to apply for NSEF grants throughout the year. Impact Grants, which provide funding of more than $500, are offered during two application cycles each school year: one in the fall at the start of the school year and another in the spring following winter break. Mini Grants, which provide funding of $500 or less, are available year-round and are reviewed and awarded on a monthly basis. All grant applications are evaluated by the NSEF Grant Committee, whose members carefully review each proposal and provide feedback and recommendations as part of the selection process.
Through this investment, NSEF continues its commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and educational excellence throughout Noblesville Schools.
