Noblesville native Caden Leary is gaining experience as an intern with House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2024 legislative session.
Leary, a Master’s Study High School graduate, is the daughter of Jerry and Heather Leary. She is currently a senior at Purdue University and majoring in social studies education.
“This has been an incredible opportunity to learn, understand and appreciate our state government and the legislative process,” Leary said. “I am grateful for the connections I’ve made, and the opportunity to work alongside state lawmakers and staff at the Statehouse.”
As a legislative intern, Leary corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
“Caden is a great addition to our team and she’s building on her skills that will help prepare her to join today’s competitive workforce,” Huston said. “I highly encourage interested college students and recent graduates in our community to apply to serve as an intern during the 2025 legislative session. It’s an exciting and rewarding experience that can be a launchpad into public service or a career in the private sector.”
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students, and recent college graduates for the duration of the legislative session.
