The inaugural performance for the 2019 “String Time on the Square” Concert Series will feature Indiana born and raised musician John Gilmore, a longtime Noblesville resident. The concert will start at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 on the Square.

Gilmore has played guitar in a number of Central Indiana acoustic ensembles, including the local trio “Noble Roots” of which he is a former and founding member. Gilmore is currently playing throughout the Midwest, promoting his new CD “Gravity’s Curse.”

The CD, which will be available at the event for $10, is a collection of his original songs which feature acoustic guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo and upright bass. Gilmore is joined for this performance by Doug Sauter on banjo and mandolin and Aaron Ransdell on bass. Stay connected with the artist by visiting johngilmoresongs.com or his Facebook page.

This is the third season for “String Time on the Square” presented by Legacy Keepers Music, a locally based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational charity dedicated to the performance, promotion and preservation of American Heritage Music. Since 2007, Legacy Keepers Music has worked in cooperation with the Hedgehog Music Showcase, owned by Bob and Kathy Foster of Noblesville.

The original series in 2017 featured four Central Indiana bands and it has grown because of local sponsorship and support to seven concerts in its third season. It is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited and the concerts are family friendly.

The next concert on Jun 22 will feature Blackberry Jam Folk Band followed by Medicinal Bluegrass on July 6.
