Noblesville head football coach John Hebert pointed something out to his players at the end of the Millers’ four-team scrimmage Wednesday at Beaver Field: the start of the regular season isn’t far away.

Noblesville welcomed teams from Pike, Fort Wayne Snider and Bloomington South to its scrimmage, with teams taking on each other in seven-on-seven drills and game situations. It gives some extra practice to players, who begin the regular season Aug. 22 with their first games.

“It was two and a half hours time, so we got just a lot of work, a lot of reps,” said Hebert. “We faced each team for 40 total minutes and we rotated through. Each side of the ball got to go through the different phases of seven-on-seven, inside run and team period.”

Hebert said he was pleased with how his team performed on Wednesday, saying his team showed up ready to be the players “they have shown us they are every day.”

“They work hard, they’re great kids, they have great energy and spirit,” said Hebert.
