Nix wins caucus to run for House District 32 seat

Last Friday evening, June 26, the Hamilton County Republican Party held a caucus at the office of Party Chairman Mario Massillamany to select a Republican candidate for the Indiana House District 32 race.

Paul Nix of Fishers, who ran for that seat four years ago when it first opened due to increased population in Fishers, was selected as the candidate by a unanimous vote of the precinct committeemen.

“When a candidate waits until they are on Medicare to run for office,” Nix said, “they are not the typical career politician, but feel a calling to serve the community in this role.”

Nix and his wife Ann moved to Fishers 35 years ago and have raised their seven children and 22 grandchildren all in the area, except one son in Virginia.

Nix will face incumbent State Representative Victoria Garcia Wilburn, a Democrat, at the Nov. 3 general election.
