MJ Foundation raises over $150,000 at fourth annual ‘Putting for a Purpose’ Golf Outing

The MJ Companies, a leading business and financial services firm for more than 60 years, held its fourth annual golf outing fundraiser on Monday, July 13, on behalf of its nonprofit arm, the MJ Foundation.

‘Putting for a Purpose’ was held at Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers and brought together more than 130 industry partners, associates, and friends to raise over $150,000.

The primary objective of the MJ Foundation is to make a positive impact on local communities. To this end, the MJ Foundation will allocate funds raised to award grants to local organizations that align with the four cornerstones of its mission: overcoming poverty, advancing education, fostering diversity, and embracing humanity.

“Our annual golf outing is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people come together around a shared purpose,” said Michael H. Bill, CEO of The MJ Companies and Founder of the MJ Foundation. “There are so many nonprofits doing vital work for those in need, and thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, employees and participants, we’re able to continue expanding our impact and investing in organizations that make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.”

In 2025, the MJ Foundation donated more than $307,000 to local community organizations in the states MJ has a physical presence in: Indiana, Colorado, Tennessee, and Arizona. The Foundation supported more than 66 organizations across these four states and MJ associates collectively volunteered 2,400 hours of their time.

The MJ Foundation will begin accepting applications in its fourth grant cycle this month, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to supporting local communities where it operates. The grant application is invite-only and open to nonprofits where MJ associates volunteer their time. An essential pillar of the Foundation is its commitment to championing organizations and causes that hold a special place for those who contribute significantly to MJ.
