Noblesville’s boys picked up a significant win on the road Friday, beating Class 4A No. 7 and previously unbeaten Anderson 67-40 in a battle of two top 10 teams.
The 4A No. 5 Millers blasted through the first quarter to a 19-8 lead. Aaron Fine scored 10 points, including 5-of-5 free-throw shooting. Noblesville outscored the Indians in each of the four periods, going up 34-20 by halftime and leading 51-30 after three quarters.
Three Millers reached double figures in scoring. Fine finished with 23 points, adding another 10 in the fourth period. Justin Curry had 16 points, scoring in every quarter, including seven points in the third. Baron Walker made three 3-pointers on his way to 13 points. Aiden Brewer led the rebounds with five and Hunter Walston provided four assists.
Noblesville is 6-1 and hosts its own tournament on Wednesday. The Millers play McCutcheon at 11:45 a.m., following a 10 a.m. game between Crown Point and Castle. The consolation game starts at 6 p.m., with the championship game at 7:45 p.m.
