Meet the 4-H’ers in this year’s “Meating” the Need

Photo illustration provided

Say hello to this year’s participants in “Meating” the Need. This partnership between the Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank (HCHFB) and 4-H beef, dairy, and swine project members will help HCHFB purchase those beef, dairy cattle, and swine at the Hamilton County 4-H Livestock Auction on July 21.

“Meating” the Need started in 2016 as HCHFB’s pilot program to provide needed protein for local food pantries. This expanded to providing protein year-round to pantries throughout Hamilton County.

Your donation doesn’t just help to purchase meat; it also supports local 4-H’ers by purchasing their project animals as they pursue their 4-H, education, and life goals.

How you can help “Meat” the Need

Any donation amount is appreciated. If you donate $250 or more by July 1, you will be recognized on the 4-H Fair Barn Banner and in local press releases.

Donate by sending a check to “Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank” with the following address line and designating “Meating the Need” in the memo line:

Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank
PO. Box 881
Noblesville, IN 46061
