Make no mistake . . . Hamilton County sure knows how to celebrate the Fourth!

The Historic Courthouse and clock tower, streets lined with proud Americans, your Fifth District Congresswoman waving a flag, and even a 1960s Ford Mustang convertible . . . this photo captures classic Americana. (The Reporter always refers to that car as the Spartzmobile.) (Photo provided by Liz Dessauer)

We know the Fourth of July is all about American pride, but The Reporter is proud of you, Hamilton County. Most of the photos you see below were taken by friends and supporters of Hamilton County’s Hometown Newspaper. Thanks for the making the holiday so special.

Strong support for CarmelFest 2022

Carmel pride, Republican pride, and American pride all came together on the Fourth of July for the CarmelFest parade. No amount of hot weather could keep these folks away.

Cicero puts its patriotism on parade

The Fourth of July parade for Cicero’s final day of the Lights Over Morse Lake Festival was a massive success. Streets were lined with onlookers, the floats and parade participants were plentiful, and because it’s Cicero, there were more golf carts than this photographer could count.

Free fun abounds at United Family Wesleyan Church fair

The United Family Wesleyan Church of Cicero held a free Fourth of July Fair, thanks to many sponsors, including The Reporter’s own Adler Attorneys. Everything at the Fair was free, including free-to-play games that awarded free prizes. Fair organizers also made sure everyone stayed hydrated – fairgoers, parade observers, and even folks in the parade itself. Great job, United Family Wesleyan Church!

Westfield is a-rockin’, don’t bother knockin’, come on in!

On Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4, Westfield Rocks the 4th brought thousands of folks to Grand Park. More than 40 booths and food vendors were there, including Westfield Republicans and the Basile Westfield Playhouse. According to John Sampson, the positive and successful event was capped off by a spectacular fireworks display Monday night.

The Wellbeing Coalition of Westfield, in partnership with Survivor Outreach Services (SOS), had a booth to honor “Survivor Families” in Indiana who have lost loved ones in active duty. Community members of all ages gathered to write letters of support and gratitude to these families of fallen soldiers. To learn more, visit in.ng.mil/Family-Resources/Survivor-Outreach-Services. To learn more about the Wellbeing Coalition of Westfield, visit wellbeingcoalitionwestfield.com.

Sheriff Department parades around county

On Monday, July 4, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was busy participating in CarmelFest, as well as parades in Cicero and Noblesville. Sheriff Dennis Quakenbush said it was wonderful seeing all the smiling faces lining the streets and the atmosphere of the community celebrating our country’s Independence Day.
