Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Indiana, but it doesn’t have to be. Most people do not experience symptoms until the disease is advanced, when treatment options are limited. That is why early detection through low-dose CT screening is critical: it can find lung cancer when it is most treatable.
Now, a mobile lung screening clinic is coming to Noblesville. If you currently smoke or have quit in the last 15 years, you may qualify.
Lung screening is:
- Fast: Takes fewer than 10 minutes.
- Simple: No needles, no prep, no change of clothes.
- Effective: Detects cancer early when it is most treatable.
- Covered by most insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid. If uninsured, IU Health will cover the screening.
Lung screening eligibility requirements (must meet both):
- History of smoking 20 years
- Between the ages of 50 and 77
Register now for the next lung screening day, set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 at the Hamilton County Health Department, 18030 Foundation Drive, Noblesville.
Appointments are recommended. Call the Mobile Lung Screening Team to schedule at (317) 962-LUNG (5864) or email lungscreening@iuhealth.org.
