September 25, 1929 – May 20, 2023
Louella Manship Guilkey, 93, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023. She was born on September 25, 1929, in Fishers to Harry and Mabel (Denny) Manship.
Louella grew up on a farm that is now the site of Fishers High School, from where she graduated. She married Paul E. Guilkey on March 15, 1952, and moved to a farm near Noblesville.
Louella was a Carmel Clay school bus driver for 12 years. She was actively involved with her children in Girl Scouts, Job’s Daughters, and 4-H, and her home was the gathering place for the neighborhood children.
Louella always had a large garden, and her home was surrounded with peonies, irises, dahlias, and gladioluses every spring. Christmas was a special time, and there were at least two fully decorated trees inside, lights on the outside tree, and Santa and his reindeer in the yard.
Louella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Guilkey; three sisters, her twin, Arnella (Carmany), Jean Manship, and Juanita (Miller); and two brothers, Melvin Manship and Wayne Brumfield.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Miller and Donna Ipock; grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Lisa (Miller) Goans, and Shannon Ipock; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and held at a later date.
