At the July 15 meeting of the Westfield Washington Schools Board of Trustees, longtime educator Libby Baud was officially approved as the new principal of Washington Woods Elementary School (WWES).
Baud brings more than 20 years of experience within Westfield Washington Schools, including the past nine years as Assistant Principal at Maple Glen Elementary. She is recognized for her calm, collaborative leadership style, deep knowledge of curriculum and instruction, and her commitment to student-centered growth.
Baud holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from IUPUI and a Master’s in Education Administration and Supervision from Ball State University.
“I am incredibly thankful for the past nine years at Maple Glen,” Baud said. “It has been an honor to serve such a dedicated staff and wonderful community. I am proud of every student I’ve worked with, and I will always carry the spirit of Maple Glen with me.”
At WWES, Baud will lead a collaborative and growing school community. She supports teachers in implementing effective practices that elevate student learning. She is passionate about building strong relationships with students, families, and staff, believing that connection is the foundation of a thriving school culture. She is dedicated to creating an environment where all students feel supported, encouraged, and equipped to achieve at high levels. Staff who have worked with her describe her as organized, approachable, growth-minded, and deeply committed to student success.
“I’m truly excited to step into this new role,” Baud said. “I look forward to building relationships with the Woods students, staff, and families, and continuing the strong traditions that make this school such a special place to learn and grow.”
Libby and her husband, Gregg Baud, a teacher at Westfield Intermediate School, are longtime residents of Westfield. They are the proud parents of Oliver and Ella, both current students in Westfield Washington Schools. The Baud family is truly “Rock Strong.”
