Leon Edward Oldham, 86, Noblesville, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, surrounded by his daughter and his grandchildren. He was born June 1, 1937, to Shirley and Naomi (Hampton) Oldham.
He grew up in Noblesville and attended Noblesville Schools. He graduated from Noblesville High School with the Class of 1955.
Leon married Nancy Ellen (Taylor) Oldham on August 29, 1969, and they were blessed with a daughter, Kathy (Oldham) Murphy.
Leon worked many years for the Hamilton County Highway Department before he retired.
Leisure time would find him golfing and going to casinos, but mostly he enjoyed being with his family and hearing about his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Murphy; his granddaughter, Taylor (Steven) Latre; great-grandchildren, Kasssidy, Jessie, and Imilia “Mia” Latre; sister, Nancy N. Allen of Milwaukee, Wis.; his special nieces, Katrina Jo (Alfred) Penn, Michelle Purdue, Nancy (Jeff) Ledford, and Shanita (Derrick) Washington; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ellen Oldham, and siblings, Willie Glenn Oldham and Shirlene (Oldham) Perdue.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to “Leon’s Break Bread Fund” at Ginger’s Care, 1111 S. 10th St., Noblesville, IN 46060.
Visitation and funeral services were held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero, with burial following at Crownland Cemetery.
