Learn about disability career awareness at Westfield Chamber’s April coffee

The Westfield Chamber of Commerce will welcome Mike Thibideau as the April coffee speaker from 8 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 25 at the Club at Chatham Hills, 1100 Chatham Hills Blvd., Westfield.

Thibideau

Thibideau, who serves as President & CEO of Invest Hamilton County, will speak about a variety of initiatives Invest Hamilton County is working on related to disability career awareness and employment. The Westfield Chamber partners with Invest Hamilton County on many of these initiatives.

Since 2022, Invest Hamilton County has been piloting disability-focused career awareness and training programs in partnership with local advisory councils and service providers. In 2024, that program is expanding to deliver dynamic and inclusive career exploration services to students and adults throughout Hamilton County. Through partnership with local Chambers and the Hamilton County Leadership Academy, Invest Hamilton County will facilitate one-to-one career discovery meetings for local students and adults with disabilities looking to learn more about a given career or occupation.

InvestAbility will also sustainably fund five community-based and paid adult training opportunities throughout the county managed by Janus Developmental Services and supported through a partnership between the Hamilton County Commissioners and Indiana FSSA. The goal is to have between 130 and 150 participants per year in these training programs once fully operational.
