January 25, 1953 – May 1, 2023
Karen Lee (Moody) Elliott peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. The youngest daughter of Lee and Eileen Moody was born on January 25, 1953, two years behind her big sister Kathy. She attended Fall Creek Elementary then on to Eastwood and North Central, graduating in 1971. She attended Indiana Center after high school.
Karen’s work life began in the medical field, first as a dental assistant then in the front office operations of three different medical offices, culminating with a position as manager of a new imaging suite in Noblesville. It wasn’t until later in life that Karen found her true calling: working at the elementary school with special needs students. “Her kiddos,” as she called them, felt her caring and loving spirit each day.
In September of 1976 she married Ed Elliott, and they have two amazing and wonderful children: Josh and Anne (Ted) Bearman; and four unique and fabulous grandchildren: Julia Bearman, Olivia Elliott, Lydia Bearman, and Evan Elliott. She was so proud of her family. There are in-laws, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by her life.
Karen was a remarkably beautiful, loving woman with a fierce spirit and quiet peace about her. A loving and caring wife, a proud and loving mother, a special Mimi to her grandchildren, and the best friend a person could ever want. Karen loved music and dancing, sitting around a fire with a good glass of wine, and shopping; but most of all she liked hosting special occasions and welcoming all who came. She was a unique and beautiful woman who will be missed by so many.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Wheeler Mission or Cancer Research.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on May 25, 2023, at West Fork Whiskey Company, 10 E. 191st St., Westfield.
