John Michael Zollman, 52, Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at Ascension St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on June 12, 1973, in Noblesville, he was the son of William Forest and Marsha Gayle (Hazel) Zollman.
He was a 1991 graduate of Marion-Adams High School (now Sheridan Community Schools) and was a driver for DHL.
John was raised in the Kirklin Church of God, where his grandfather served as minister. His spiritual foundation guided a life filled with compassion and community. As a youth, he enjoyed playing basketball and briefly ran track, displaying the energy and enthusiasm that would define him throughout his life.
John was a born people person, always ready with a hug and a smile. He had an unmatched ability to connect with anyone he met and was instantly liked by all. His friendly, engaging nature left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. Whether it was at his job, or on the golf course where he loved to spend time with his friends, he was always excited to be in the moment and share every experience along the way.
John also loved his family, sharing countless weekends with his children, creating memories through simple adventures and quality time. A beloved father, son, brother, and friend whose presence brought warmth and kindness to all who knew him, John’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and genuine connection. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
John is survived by his parents, William Forest and Marsha Gayle (Hazel) Zollman; five cherished children, Elysia Zollman of Westfield, Alexis Zollman (partner, Travis Harris) of Franklin, Ind., Jacob Zollman of Franklin, Tenn., and his twin boys, Noah and Tucker Zollman (mom, Breann “Bre”) of Sheridan; brother, William A. Zollman of Delmar, N.Y.; sister, Michelle (Jason) Zollman-Byers of Sheridan; nieces and nephews, Alec Zollman, Kali Penwell, Austin Byers, Zachary Byers, Jasmine Zollman, and Elizabeth Zollman; his canine BFF, Sully; former wives, Lynette, and Breann “Bre”; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Forest R. and Crystal M. Zollman; and maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Anna Pearl Hazel.
A celebration of John’s life will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St., Sheridan, with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
John will be laid to rest at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan at a later date.
John had a passion for golf and loved playing any and every chance he could. He always looked forward to opportunities to help give back to so many wonderful organizations through his participation in various charity golf events.
