“As the new chair of the Judiciary Committee, I’m ready to get to work and dive into issues and legislation related to our state’s judicial system,” Jeter said. “I’m looking forward to leaning into my experience as an attorney and my roles on both the judiciary and courts committees.”

House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers) said Jeter is well-prepared to chair the committee.

“The House Judiciary Committee works on complex issues related to our criminal justice system and Chris’ background as an attorney will serve him well in this position,” Speaker Huston said.

Jeter will continue to serve as a member of the House Courts and Criminal Code Committee and the House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee.

House standing committee meetings take place during the legislative session, which begins in January, and are typically held at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. To watch committee hearings and session meetings, view calendars and agendas, and track proposals for new laws, visit iga.in.gov.
