James “Jim” Streeter

January 26, 1937 – October 3, 2026

James “Jim” Paul Streeter, 89, Carmel, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026. He was born January 26, 1937, in Kokomo, son of Paul Robert and Ferol Josephine (Garbert) Streeter.

As a farm boy, Jim grew up in Kokomo in a loving home with his parents and two brothers. Following graduation from Northwestern High School, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Betty Wolfe Streeter, in 1956. Jim attended Purdue University, then continued his education at IUPUI where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He was an avid Purdue fan, and the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Fever, and the Indy 500.

Jim and Betty loved to travel! With friends they traveled the world visiting six different continents. As a Construction Project Manager for Hunt Construction, Jim traveled extensively managing global construction projects.

Jim was a Carmel Symphony Emeritus board member.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty (Wolfe) Streeter; brothers, Jack Streeter and Joe Streeter; and son-in-law, Ross Houston.

Survivors include his daughters, Julie Houston and Jayne (Art) Enlow; grandchildren, David (Melanie) Houston, Kathryn (Keith) Houston Gibson, Kyle (Elli) Vanover, Brayden (Katie) Streeter, and Cogan (Kayleigh) Streeter; and three great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, at Carmel United Methodist Church, 621 S. Range Line Road, Carmel, where the Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m.

A Committal Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. at South Union Cemetery, 00NS 1050 West, Kokomo.
