Jacqueline Geraldine “Jackie” Golay died peacefully on August 3, 2023, at Hooverwood Living in Indianapolis. The daughter of John Hinds and Vohnell Austin Hinds, she was born on April 16, 1931. After graduation from Arsenal Technical High School, Jackie attended nursing school at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was predeceased by her husband of many years, Clair William Golay.
Her gracious smile, kind heart, and loyalty to her family were hallmarks of Jackie’s life.
Jackie is survived by a son and two daughters and their families, Michael Golay and Julie Quinn, Susan E. Hope and Mike Hope, and Christine Golay. She dearly loved her two Hope grandchildren and three Hope great-grandchildren: Jack and Kylee and their son Paxton, as well as Andy and Kristen and their daughter Harper and son Kainan. She will also be greatly missed by her sister, Paula Schwartz.
Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to her Life’s Journey Hospice nurse, Kerry, and the entire staff at Hooverwood Living who looked after Jackie with care and concern in the recent months.
A memorial service is being planned for mid-September.
