The Indiana Bar Foundation awarded more than $4.7 million to 13 Indiana organizations whose mission is to provide civil legal assistance to low-income Hoosiers.
The civil legal aid organizations receiving funding are:
- Ability Allies
- Center for Victim and Human Rights
- Child Advocates
- Indiana Legal Services
- Indianapolis Legal Aid Society
- Kids’ Voice of Indiana
- Legal Aid Corp. of Tippecanoe Co.
- Legal Aid Society of Evansville
- Metro Community Outreach
- Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic
- Pro Bono Indiana
- Volunteer Lawyer Program of Northeast Indiana
- Whitewater Valley Pro Bono
Additionally, the Foundation distributed $8,000 among four scholarship recipients working to become tomorrow’s future leaders. The Phelps & Fara Scholarship assists a law student enrolled at the IU McKinney School of Law with an interest in family law. The Hon. Cale J. Holder Scholarship assists an IU McKinney School of Law student demonstrating dedication to the administration of law, desire to be a practicing trial lawyer, capacity for leadership, academic achievement, and military service record, if any.
