Two incoming Carmel High School freshmen girls spent the week playing in the American Junior Golf Association’s Renewal by Andersen Junior Open, which took place at Pekin Country Club in Pekin, Ill.
Maya Fujisawa Keuling finished tied for seventh at the three-day, 56-hole tournament, totaling a score of 221. Fujisawa Keuling’s first-day score of 72 was even par, that included three birdies.
Fujisawa Keuling followed that with a second-day total of 73, again making three birdies. She finished the third round with a score of 76 and made six birdies for the tournament.
Karis Reid, also a member of the Carmel class of 2029, tied for 21st at the event, scoring 231. Reid made two birdies during her first round, on her way to a score of 77, then improved on the second day with a total of 76. Reid carded a 78 in the third round, making one birdie for a tournament total of three.
