Next week will be the biggest week of all in Hamilton County soccer, as the IHSAA post-season begins with sectionals.
Play starts Monday, with county boys teams competing at five different sectional sites and girls participating at four sites. All championship matches are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12.
BOYS SITES
Noblesville will host Class 3A Sectional 8, a six-team grouping. The Millers play in Game 1, taking on Pendleton Heights, with Anderson playing Fishers in Game 2. The winners face off in the first semi-final, with Hamilton Southeastern and Muncie Central playing in the second semi-final.
Carmel and Westfield play at 3A Sectional 10, a six-team sectional at Pike. The Red Devils take on Shortridge in the first game, followed by the Shamrocks playing North Central. The winners play in the first semi-final, followed by the second semi-final between the Greyhounds and Zionsville.
In Class 2A, Guerin Catholic and Hamilton Heights play at the seven-team Sectional 26 at Brebeuf Jesuit. The Golden Eagles take on Cardinal Ritter in the first game, followed by the Huskies playing the host Braves. The third game features Lebanon and Covenant Christian. Western Boone plays the Game 1 winner in the first semi-final, with the winners of Games 2 and 3 facing off in the second semi-final.
The county’s two Class 1A teams will play in five-team sectionals. Sheridan hosts Sectional 39; the first game there is between Anderson Prep and Tri-Central. The Blackhawks and Taylor then play the first semi-final, with the Game 1 winner taking on Liberty Christian in the second semi-final.
University will play at Sectional 40 at Park Tudor. The host Panthers face Heritage Christian in the first round. The Trailblazers take on Scecina in the first semi-final, with International playing the Game 1 winner in the second semi-final
GIRLS SITES
Southeastern will host 3A Sectional 8, which is also a six-team sectional. The Royals play Muncie Central in Game 1, with Pendleton Heights facing off against Fishers in Game 2. The winners of those games will play in the first semi-final, with Anderson and Noblesville competing in the second semi-final.
Carmel hosts 3A Sectional 10, a seven-team grouping. Westfield and Zionsville play each other in Game 1, followed by Guerin Catholic and Pike facing off in Game 2. Arsenal Tech and North Central will compete in Game 3. Carmel takes on the Game 1 winner in the first semi-final, with the Games 2 and 3 winners playing in the second semi-final.
In Class 2A, Hamilton Heights travels to New Castle to compete in the five-team Sectional 24. The Huskies will play Jay County in the first game of the sectional. The host Trojans take on Yorktown in the first semi-final, with Delta playing the Game 1 winner in the second semi-final.
In Class 1A, Sheridan will also host Sectional 37, which features six teams. The Blackhawks play Eastern in Game 1, with Tri-Central and Taylor facing off in Game 2. The winners of those games will play in the first semi-final, with Tipton and University playing in the second semi-final.
