Huskies put hammer down on Northwestern

Hamilton Heights blasted through its Hoosier Conference East Division opener on Tuesday, winning at Northwestern 72-29.

The Class 3A No. 1 Huskies led 10-8 after one quarter, but only allowed the Tigers seven points in each of the next three periods. Heights led 29-15 at halftime, then poured in 26 points in the third quarter. Camryn Runner scored 15 points in the third period; she led the Huskies scoring with 39 points.

Meanwhile, Katie Brown had an outstanding performance from beyond the 3-point line. She nailed five triples, connecting on four in the first half and one more in the third quarter. Brown finished the game with 17 points. Hadleigh Cherry added eight points.

Heights is 8-1 and plays Saturday afternoon at Concordia Lutheran.
