Huskies’ Maria Mitchell wins at Maconaquah Invitational

Hamilton Heights’ Maria Mitchell won the Varsity Girls race at the Maconaquah Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
Mitchell finished the race in 19:06.2, over 40 seconds ahead of second place. As a team, the Huskies girls finished sixth, with a score of 162 points.
Other Heights runners were: Morgan Guthrie (23rd, 22:34.7), Maddie Dotlich (34th, 23:20.1), 39. Victoria Lopez (39th, 23:40.6), Hayden Hough (79th, 25:56.4), Isis Dillman (81st, 25:57.0), Marissa Kennedy (84th, 26:29.4), Allyson Dinwiddie (99th, 28:48.7) and Elianna Watson (105th, 29:30.2).
In the boys race, the Huskies finished third with 124 points. Heights runners in that race were: Preston Miller (13th, 17:50.1), Price Knowles (18th, 18:05.1), Evan Williamson (26th, 18:36.4), Clay Forrer (28th, 18:40.5), Landon Hurley (43rd, 19:09.5), Drew Monnin (59th, 19:46.7), Alec Pasalich (85th, 20:53.0), Caleb Hurley (89th, 21:04.8).
Sheridan’s Kordell Davis participated in the meet, finishing 139th (27:39.6).
