Huskies hit their stride, win twice at Huntington North Classic, now 15-2

The Hamilton Heights girls basketball team picked up two solid wins last Saturday at the Huntington North Classic.

First, the Huskies beat Plymouth 59-24. Heights outscored the Pilgrims in all four quarters and never allowed them more than nine points in a period. The Huskies led 35-14 at halftime and ran away with the fourth quarter 9-2.

Camryn Runner scored 23 points, while Ella Hickok hit four 3-pointers on her way to 14 points.

Heights kept the momentum going in its second game, sailing past Wawasee 52-26. The contest was tied at 9-9 after one quarter and the Huskies led 17-14 at halftime, but Heights dominated the second half, outscoring the Warriors 35-11.

Runner again led the scoring with 27 points, including 11 points in the third quarter. Hickok scored 10 points.

The Huskies are 15-2 and play Saturday afternoon at Westfield.
