Huskies girls place fifth at East Central Tournament

The Hamilton Heights girls basketball team finished fifth at the East Central Tournament on Friday, beating Richmond 56-34 in the fifth-place game.
The Class 3A No. 10 Huskies trailed 6-3 after the first quarter, but dominated the next three. Heights led 20-14 at halftime, then finished the game by outscoring the Red Devils 16-6 in the fourth period.
Four Huskies reached double figures: Ana Collar led with 12 points, Bayleigh Runner added 11 , and Kayla Kirtley and Payton Dissett both scored 10. Collar also grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double, along with making five steals. Kirtley had two blocked shots.
Heights is now 8-6 for the season and return to the Husky Dome on Thursday to play Lewis Cass in a Hoosier Conference game.
