Carmel got off to a fast start on Saturday, Jan. 10 and used the momentum to pick up a 67-47 win over Heritage Christian on Bill Shepherd Court at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The Greyhounds led 18-5 after the first quarter, with Sydney Bonds scoring eight of those points. Bella Ramsey added five points in the first, then drained a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter. Bonds also contributed six points in the second, helping Carmel to a 36-21 halftime lead.
The Hounds outscored the Eagles in each quarter of the game, adding 14 points in the third for a 46-29 lead. Ramsey scored six points in the third and four more in the fourth to finish with 22 points, making three triples along the way.
Bonds added 19 points. Catherine Bassi, still working her way back after an injury, reached double digits with 11 points.
Carmel is 8-8 and plays tonight at Pendleton Heights.
