The Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame welcomed its newest member last Saturday. Austin Etherington, a 2011 Hamilton Heights graduate, was formally inducted in between the Huskies’ girls game with Rensselaer Central and the boys game with Maconaquah.

Etherington scored 1,073 points during his Huskies career and was named as an Indiana All-Star. He went on to play college basketball at Indiana University for three years (redshirting his sophomore year), then played for two years at Butler University.

“It’s awesome,” said Etherington. “It’s fun. He noted that Hamilton County has “a lot of good basketball players, so it’s an honor to be a part of this.”

Etherington lives in Fort Wayne with his wife and daughter, and works in medical equipment sales. He is pictured with Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame board members Don Morgan (left) and Arnie Cooper.
