Heights girls cross country has no trouble winning New Haven Invite

The Hamilton Heights girls cross country team breezed to victory at the New Haven Invitational last Saturday.

The Huskies scored 57 points to win the team title, well ahead of runner-up Norwell’s 102 points. Heights had all of its top seven runners finish in the top 25, including two in the top 10: Anna Monnin finished eighth, clocking in at 20 minutes, 44.0 seconds, while Allie Bushey placed 10th in 20:57.4.

Julianna Springman (12th, 21:15.9), Ayla Madara (13th, 21:17.2) and Kendall Moe (14th, 21:17.8) quickly closed the scoring for the Huskies. Mary Ella Bichey was 16th in 21:32.2, with Amira Leer placing 22nd in 22:03.4. Other runners were Hattie Graham (35th, 23:10.2), Mary Bowman (41st, 23:21.2), Madison Shively (62nd, 24:19.0), Veronica Pruitt (64th, 24:21.5) and Ahli Buzan (107th, 27:11.2).

In the boys meet, Heights placed eighth with 210 points. Rudy Bowman finished 15th with a time of 17:27.8, with Isaiah Heuer placing 22nd in 17:40.4.

Also running for the Huskies: Aiden Clarke (51st, 18:45.4), Hudson Holt (53rd, 18:45.5), Charles Wedmore (69th, 19:11.9), Max Bowman (89th, 19:58.2), Jackson Cantlon (98th, 20:19.4), Winston McDonald (101st, 20:23.8) and Jack Powell (129th, 21:37.1).
