Hamilton & Tipton County SWCDs to hold Farmer Field Day

The Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and Tipton County SWCD will play host to a Farmer Field Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Johnson Grain Farms, 15415 E. 281st St., Atlanta.

This event will provide area farmers, landowners, and ag professionals with timely updates on nutrient management, herbicide regulations, and conservation practices, along with opportunities for continuing education credits.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the program kicks off at 9 a.m. Sessions will include:

  • Nutrient Management Planning for No-Till & Cover Crop Systems – Betsy Bower, Senior Research Associate, Department of Agronomy, Purdue University
  • Understanding Herbicide Label Changes – Reuben Baris, Regulatory Policy Leader, Corteva Agriscience and Haley M. Fulk, Territory Manager, Corteva Agriscience
  • Farmer Panel Discussion – Local producers share experiences with nutrient management, soil testing, and tillage systems
  • PARP Presentation – Diana Davis, Tipton County Purdue Extension

A catered lunch from Big Dog’s BBQ in Cicero will be provided at no cost to attendees.

Continuing education opportunities include: PARP, CCH, and CCA credits.
