Hamilton Heights School Corporation (HHSC) recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony marking the official unveiling of its newly enhanced athletic complex, administrative wing, and completion of the Phase 2 project.

The event drew a strong turnout from community members, families, and supporters, all gathered at the South Ticket Entrance of the Hamilton Heights Stadium to celebrate this milestone.

Led by HHSC Superintendent Dr. Derek Arrowood and School Board President Dr. Kevin Cavanaugh, the ceremony spotlighted the unveiling of the Jarrod T. Mason Team Room, a central feature of the new Outdoor Locker Facility. The celebration was filled with school spirit – cheerleaders energized the crowd, football players joined ahead of their game, and the Hamilton Heights Band performed the school song to kick off the festivities. Following the ribbon cutting, attendees toured the upgraded facilities

“We are proud of the state-of-the-art facilities we have provided for our students to have outstanding academic and athletic spaces for them to flourish and grow,” Cavanaugh said. “The ribbon cutting for the locker room facility and Jarrod T. Mason meeting space was especially meaningful to the students, staff, patrons, and school board.  We were very excited to see so many community members attend the ribbon cutting showing support for Heights and the new facilities.”

Superintendent Arrowood added, “Heights has been blessed to be able to invest in virtually all of our academic and athletic facilities over the last decade. The celebration we just held is a continuation of making sure that our facilities enhance students’ opportunities to learn with a focus on creating facilities that help our great kids do great things.”

“As both President of OneZone Chamber and a proud parent of Huskies, I know that great schools are the foundation of strong communities,” OneZone Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jack Russell. “The new Outdoor Locker Facility, Jarrod T. Mason Team Room, and the exciting upgrades inside Hamilton Heights showcase our district’s commitment to creating opportunities for students to learn, grow, and thrive. These investments not only enhance the student experience but also strengthen our community as a whole.”

Special thanks to CSO Architects and Mayer Najem for their expert guidance throughout the design and construction process, the facilities and maintenance team for all they do to keep the campus welcoming, well-maintained, and beautiful for students, staff, and visitors alike, HHSC Business Manager Kristin McCarty who works magic to help bring these projects to fruition, and HHSC Facility Director Dori Hochstedler who was instrumental in this project. She may not have been in attendance, but she was there in spirit and with a life-size image.
