Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) announces the launch of its Spring Native Plant Kit Sale, offering residents an accessible way to establish beautiful native landscapes, support pollinators and wildlife, and enhance watershed health across Hamilton County.

Native Indiana plant kits take the guesswork out of creating vibrant ecosystems and provide a curated mix of tried-and-true species suited to a range of yard conditions.

This annual fundraiser supports the SWCD’s mission to advance conservation, educate the community, and reinvest in local environmental stewardship. Funds raised help expand educational programs, shore up water quality efforts, and support future restoration projects throughout the county.

What’s available

  • Multiple native plant kits, each containing 50 plant plugs tailored for specific garden types (e.g., prairie, rain garden, shade garden, monarch-friendly, basic prairie)
  • $165 per kit plus tax
  • Pre-order deadline: March 31
  • Pick-up: First week of June in Noblesville

“We’ve designed these kits for simplicity and success,” said Claire Lane, Urban Conservationist at the Hamilton County SWCD. “Whether residents are new to native planting or seasoned gardeners, these plants are selected for strong performance in Indiana soils and climates – and they bring critical benefits for pollinators, birds, and water quality.”

Native plants have deep ecological roots in our region, offering habitat, stabilizing soil to reduce erosion, and naturally filtering stormwater. By planting native gardens, homeowners and businesses alike can bolster local biodiversity and make meaningful contributions to landscape sustainability.
