Greyhounds host Distance Showcase

Foley sets new Carmel girls record

The Carmel track & field teams hosted their annual Distance Showcase on Friday, April 24.

The event consisted of over 300 track runners competing in the 3200 run. There was a freshman boys race, six girls heats and seven boys heats.

The Greyhounds’ Sadie Foley was the local star, finishing third overall in the girls race for the best Hamilton County finish of the night. Foley set a new Carmel record by clocking in at 10 minutes, 14.54 seconds.

Three county racers reached the top 10 in the boys race. Hamilton Southeastern’s Liam Powers placed fifth in 8:58.80, while Noblesville’s Banner Barnes took eighth place in 9:00.45. Carmel’s Lucas Bartlett placed 10^th in 9:03.85.
