Golden Eagles win all-county game with Shamrocks

The Guerin Catholic boys lacrosse team won hard-fought home game over Westfield on Wednesday by the score of 15-10.

Vinny Elliott had an outstanding game for the Golden Eagles, scoring seven goals. Gavin Soucie was dominant, totaling five goals and three assists. Mason Walosin added three goals and dished out one assist.

Chris Giedd made two assists and J.B. Ford provided one assist. Goalkeeper Magnus Mertez made eight saves.

Keegan Hemingway led the Shamrocks scoring with three goals and one assist. Daniel Sherman and Landon Clark both scored two goals, with Sherman also handing out two assists.

Tyler Hamilton, Finnigan Smyth and Sam Meyers all scored one Westfield goal. Goalkeeper Jack Hamilton made 13 saves.

Guerin Catholic is 6-4 and hosts Glenbard West (Ill.) on Saturday. The Rocks are 6-2 and play at Lake Forest (Ill.) on Saturday.
