The Guerin Catholic baseball team hosted Avon Tuesday in a chilly game that ended with no winner.

The teams were tied at 2-2 after six innings before the game was called due to darkness. That means the Golden Eagles are still undefeated for the season, as they won their first four games before taking on the Orioles.

Avon scored a run in the top of the first inning. Guerin Catholic answered with a run in the bottom of the second inning; Grant Beard scored after Luke Zorger reached on error.

The score stayed at 1-1 until the sixth inning, when both teams added another run. The Orioles scored with an RBI groundout, and the Golden Eagles scored in the same manner. Karson Smith led off with a single, then scored on Beard’s RBI groundout.

Both teams finished the game with three hits. Ben Canada and Ian Taylor also got a base hit. Tate Troxell pitched three innings and didn’t allow a hit, while striking out four.

Guerin Catholic’s next game is Thursday at Heritage Christian.
