Guerin Catholic returned to action after a 19-day layoff by hosting Roncalli Tuesday in a Circle City Conference game at the Eagles Nest.
The Golden Eagles fell to the Royals 42-29. Roncalli jumped out to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter, but Guerin Catholic cut into that lead by halftime, getting within 25-17. Kathryn Loso scored 12 points in the first half, while Katie Koger added five points.
The Royals led 34-26 after three quarters. Mia Thompson scored seven points in that period for the Golden Eagles. But Roncalli ran away with the fourth quarter, outscoring GC 8-3.
Loso scored 13 points to lead the Golden Eagles. Koger and Thompson each made one 3-pointer.
Guerin Catholic is 1-2 in conference play and 8-8 overall. The Golden Eagles host Lebanon Saturday afternoon.
