Mudsock week continued Wednesday with girls soccer, and Hamilton Southeastern was the winner of that round.
The Class 3A No. 1 Royals scored an early goal, and that was enough to get them past 3A No. 7 Fishers 1-0. Molly Harris scored the goal during the game’s first 10 minutes on a free kick.
“Ben does a great job with his team,” said Royals coach Greg Davidson. “He always has them playing so well.”
Southeastern is now 8-1 for the season. The Royals host Crown Point on Saturday morning.
“We got to continue to get better,” said Davidson. “We’re a great team, we got a great defense, we got great midfield, we got great forwards. But we got to continue to be even a better team four weeks from now.”
The Tigers are 5-1-2 and play at Warsaw on Saturday.

Noblesville beat Westfield 4-1 in a Wednesday game at the Shamrocks’ field.
The 3A No. 3 Millers scored all of their goals in the first half. Meskerem James scored the first goal four minutes into the game on a rebound. Isabella Griffey put the second goal in from a Jenna Chatterton assist. Ava Bramblett was next, putting the ball in from 18 yards out. McKenna Corley got Noblesville’s fourth goal; it was her first varsity goal.
Allison Bullock scored Westfield’s goal with 10 minutes left in the game.
Noblesville is 6-0-1 and plays at Homestead on Saturday. The Shamrocks are 5-4 and play at Southeastern next Wednesday.
