Girls golf: Westfield takes Lady Broncho Invitational

The Westfield girls golf team won the Lady Broncho Invitational last Saturday at Battleground Golf Course.

The Shamrocks scored a 290, two over par as a team. Samantha Brown won medalist honors with a six-under par 66, while Addi Kooi scored an even par 72. Sam Lemieux and Sami Hanavan both scored personal bests with 76s while Kelsey Haverluck totaled a 78.

Carmel finished second place with a score of 295; Michaela Headlee was the runner-up with a 69, Claire Swathwood and Sophie Mock each had 75s, Kamryn Williams scored 76 and Maddie Headlee carded an 84.

Noblesville was a strong third place with a 306. Jordan Adam scored a 74, while Josie Kelley added a 75.

Noblesville sent its Varsity 2 team to the Fort Wayne Carroll Invitational last Saturday, where the Millers placed sixth.

Savannah Munson and Presley White both scored 84s, followed by Peyton Kauzlick 85, Kendall Cooper 88 and Aubri Miller 94.

On Tuesday, Noblesville played a three-team meet with Zionsville and Fishers.

The Millers’ “A” team won with a 156, followed by Zionsville with a 162, the Noblesville “B” team with a 187 and Fishers with 211. Jordan Adam, Olivia Fowler, Karis Shields and Olivia Anderson were all co-medalists with a 39.

Guerin Catholic won a three-team meet with Hamilton Heights and Mount Vernon on Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles scored 182 to the Marauders’ 193 and the Huskies’ 203. Guerin Catholic’s Ali Scott was a co-medalist with a 42.

Taylor Morrison led Heights with a 45, followed by Camryn Runner 51, Presley Cherry 52, Tanner Penwell 54, Hadleigh Cherry 62, Sammie Powers 63, Emma Trees 65, Alayna Kauffman 69 and MacKenzie Heinzman 71.
