Dear Editor:
As a former board member and past president, I know firsthand how important this funding is. It continues the operating support Noblesville voters have approved since 2010, and it will keep our community and schools strong and vibrant.
I support a Yes vote on Noblesville Schools public question 3 on Nov. 3.
The current referendum expires at the end of 2026. It provides about $25 million a year for teachers, class size, career and STEM courses, safety, and student support. It cannot be used for buildings or debt.
If it fails, the district says it would cut about 20 percent of staff, reduce programs, and consider closing an elementary school. The ballot maximum is higher than the rate the board has committed to use. For a $350,000 home, the district estimates about $1.88 more a month than residents pay now.
The students of our community are counting on us. Please join my family in voting Yes this November. Thank you.
Kevin Kalstad
Past President, Noblesville Schools Board of Trustees
