On Thursday, the City of Fishers, Mayor Fadness, and the Fishers Rotary Club welcomed Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr of Freetown, Sierra Leone, and dedicated a tree in Rotary Park, 11593 Lantern Road, in honor of her efforts to be a world-changer and to take Freetown to Tree Town. Mayor Aki-Sawyerr’s goal is to plant 1 million trees in Freetown within two years to reduce the risk of landslides and flooding and to reintroduce biodiversity. The tree at Rotary Park symbolizes that effort and Fishers’ solidarity and friendship to create a more sustainable and healthier world.
