Fishers company gives back to veteran families

TCC, one of the nation’s largest authorized Verizon retailers and a subsidiary of Fishers-based Round Room, LLC., has announced that it is purchasing holiday gifts for 24 veteran families nationwide through its sixth annual Veterans Rock program. Each year, TCC aims to celebrate those who served in the U.S. military around Veterans Day through Veterans Rock.

For the second year in succession, TCC is partnering with Soldiers’ Angels, an organization that aims to provide aid, comfort and resources to military veterans and their families. The nonprofit paired each TCC store region with one family in its Holiday Adopt-A-Family registry based on location and need. Each family in the registry provides a wish list for each child in the family and also outlines its biggest needs. TCC stores are purchasing gifts from each child’s wish list, items that reflect each family’s greatest needs throughout the month and providing grocery gift cards for two holiday family meals. Gifted items include clothes, toys and general household items for adults of the families.

“For many families, the holidays are a financial burden, and this year may be tougher than most amid the uncertain economy,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room and TCC. “While deployed, providing gifts on a military or veteran family budget adds another layer to the challenge. We are thrilled to continually honor deserving service members and their families, and our hope is this year’s Veterans Rock program provides some relief to any holiday shopping burdens.”

Along with benefiting local veteran families this holiday season, each TCC regional director is taking veteran employees out for a meal to show gratitude and commemorate TCC’s commitment to its veterans. TCC is thankful for its veteran employees of all branches for their sacrifice, their bravery and the example they set. Qualified active and veteran military members and their spouses are encouraged to explore career opportunities with the company. With locations in 39 states, TCC can transfer employed military members or their spouses to a new TCC location if they need to move. Aside from transfer opportunities, TCC gives all employees paid volunteer days, paid time off, profit sharing bonuses, same-day pay and more.
