Fishers Arts Council (FAC) and Sun King Brewery are sponsoring the fourth annual Harvest Fest from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10 at Fishers Heritage Park at White River, 10595 Eller Road, Fishers.

This year’s family-friendly event features over 45 artists and artisans, nine non-profits, three bands, local authors, fun activities, and plenty of food and drink for all.

Additional support for Harvest Fest comes from Communications Sponsor and Arts Partner, Nickel Plate Arts. Artist Transportation is made possible through the Walmart Neighborhood Grant program courtesy of the Walmart on Ambleside Drive in Fishers. Fishers Parks, who manages Heritage Park at White River, along with 24 other amazing parks in the city of Fishers, is providing family yard games this year to help round out the community fun of Harvest Fest. “Art Food Music Community” really does come together when the community helps assist in FAC’s and Sun King’s shared goal of supporting Fishers-serving nonprofits.

This free, family-friendly event began in 2020. In four short years, it has grown to focus on raising funds and awareness for several Fishers-serving non-profits, shopping directly from local artists, and showcasing local musicians.

This year’s non-profits include The Forgiving Sea Project, The Fishers Historical Society, Gal’s Guide Library, Studio Outside the Box, Janus Developmental Services, Hoosier Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Delaware Township Trustee, ReSounding Joy, and Fishers Arts Council. Each organization will offer something different to raise much-needed funds, including art activities, raffles, refreshments, and more.

The featured bands will be Sweet Tunes, The Klezmets, and Remington Hill, with all musicians sponsored by grant from the Fishers Arts + Culture Commission.

FAC will have a painting activity (courtesy of a grant from Fishers Arts + Culture Commission, led by local artist Barbara Howrey) and Janus Developmental Services will offer a fun craft activity and raffle. Studio Outside the Box will have a face painter at their booth. Both Studio Outside the Box and Janus Developmental Services will offer art creations made by those who use their services. The Forgiving Sea Project focuses on healing ourselves and the planet. They will offer items such as stickers, music, and artwork from their exhibit, a raffle, and are partnering with the White River Alliance. ReSounding Joy is a music and art therapy organization, new to Harvest Fest this year, that will offer musical interactivities.

The Fishers Historical Society will offer face painting, books by local author Larry A. Reynolds, and limited-edition prints while Gal’s Guide Library will have fun book-based items, sodas and juices, as well as “Women’s History Card Readings” by Mad’m Leah.

A new non-profit joins this year, Hoosier Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, offering photo prints, apparel, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with turtles and snakes.

The Delaware Township Trustee will collect non-perishable donations for the food pantry, which provides the Fishers community with essential food and hygiene items. Bring items with you from this list or offer a monetary donation the food pantry can use to purchase fresh milk, meats, and produce for clients.

Bring your appetite and grab lunch, early dinner, or tame your sweet tooth with food trucks that have graciously partnered to donate a portion of their proceeds to participating non-profits: Chef TLC with Faith the Food Bus (benefiting Delaware Township Trustee food pantry), Kona Ice Indy (benefiting The Forgiving Sea Project) and Just Cakin’ It (benefiting ReSounding Joy).

“I am beyond thrilled with how much Harvest Fest has grown since 2020,” FAC Executive Director Les Reinhardt said. “All of our sponsors and partners, especially Sun King Brewery and Nickel Plate Arts, have helped grow this event in such an amazing way. We are truly thankful for how our community comes together to make this event possible, and we are proud to be able to offer a fundraising opportunity for Fishers-serving non-profits in a fun, community art fair atmosphere.”

Beth Belange-Hood, the Promotions Director of Sun King Brewery & Spirits, says of the partnership, “Sun King Brewery is a proud supporter of the arts, culture, and humanities. Fishers Arts Council is a vital partner, providing support for all local artists in our community. Next time you visit our Fishers Tap Room and Small-Batch Brewery, you can check out our local artists display that showcases local Hamilton County and Hoosier artists.”

Reinhardt added, “Even though last year was rainy, we had a fabulous turnout at our Author’s Booth so we’re bringing it back for 2023.”

There will be over 45 local artists and artisans at Harvest Fest this year. There’s a variety of items ranging from fine art to jewelry to toys to personal care, all skillfully handmade right here in Central Indiana. Bring the kids, bring your appetite, and bring a wagon to take these treasures home with you.
