Field Drive/Cumberland Road intersection to close for seven weeks

The City of Noblesville notifies motorists and residents that effective on or after Monday, June 10, the intersection of Field Drive and Cumberland Road will be closed for seven weeks, weather permitting.

The intersection is scheduled to be a full closure to all traffic. During the closure, traffic should utilize the signed detour route of Allisonville Road, East 191st Street and State Road 37.

The intersection was analyzed by the Noblesville Engineering Department due to concerns with vehicle delays and safety. In order to create a safer and more efficient intersection, a roundabout was chosen. Construction on the roundabout has been coordinated around Noblesville School’s summer break to minimize the impact to the high school.

United Construction Services has been selected by INDOT to construct the roundabout, which costs $977,000. The project is funded through a federal grant with the City of Noblesville’s match of 20 percent ($195,400).

Access to all adjacent residences, businesses and facilities will be maintained and posted throughout construction. Emergency services have already been notified about the impending construction that would block or limit access.
