Sheridan Lions Club members enjoyed a presentation by representatives of Sheridan Main Street, Inc., Garrett Gossard and Cindy Keever, at its meeting last Wednesday, April 1.

They introduced Sheridan’s First Art Alley Project, which will be located between the Sheridan Fire Department and Keever’s Hardware. It will connect the Ohio Street Monon Trailhead to Main Street.

Decorative arches will cover the alley and painted murals will adorn the building walls.

The First Art Alley Project is a continuation of the organization’s goal to improve Main Street’s curb appeal to attract new businesses.

Main Street, Inc. is seeking donations for the project. If it raises $50,000 the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority will provide a match of $50,000.

Sheridan Lions, along with Phi Beta Psi Sorority, will host the Annual Pork Loin Dinner on Saturday, April 18. The popular fundraiser will be held at Sheridan Elementary School from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are available from Lions Club and Sorority members. Adults are $12 and children are $4.
