Essay contest open to students

The deadline for essay entries in the Horseshoe Prairie Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, is Wednesday, Nov. 1. Essays will be judged by an independent panel of judges with the winning essays in each category forwarded to the State competition, with those winning essays judged in the national competition in Washington, D. C.

The essay categories are the American History Essay competition for grades 5 through 8 and the Christopher Columbus essay competition for grades 9 through 12.
