Emily Angel Shaw has filed to run for Judge of Hamilton County Superior Court 8 in the May 5, 2026, Democratic Primary.

Angel Shaw is currently the Director of Family Law Services at Kids’ Voice of Indiana, a local nonprofit serving children across the state. She provides best interests advocacy for youth in family law and child welfare cases, and also develops and delivers initial and ongoing trainings for best interests advocates in all four corners of Indiana.

Since 2014, Angel Shaw has also operated her own private law firm, handling mostly family law cases in a variety of Indiana courts including Hamilton County. While her primary area of focus has been family law and children’s issues, Angel Shaw has also handled various probate, criminal, and business law related matters.

Angel Shaw moved to Hamilton County in 2024, and is a lifelong central Indiana resident. Angel Shaw graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis, attended the University of Evansville for her undergraduate studies, and received her Juris Doctor from IU McKinney School of Law. Most recently, Angel Shaw earned her Master of Laws (LLM) Degree from University College Cork in Ireland in Children’s Rights and Family Law. She resides in Carmel with her husband and their three children. She is a proud hockey and soccer mom, Habitat for Humanity builder, and regularly volunteers for many causes she cares about.

Emily Angel Shaw will appear on the ballot in the Democratic Primary Election on May 5.
