McAllister was crossing City Center Drive near Timber Creek Drive, which is not a designated crosswalk, when he was struck by the pickup truck. The investigation revealed that glare from the sun may have been a factor in the accident.

Carmel Police reported there is no indication at this time to believe that alcohol or drugs played a part in the accident.

All lanes of City Center Drive were closed to traffic. The Carmel Police Department would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding while the road was closed for investigation.
